Another new to Hull Dairycoates in May ’62, originally D6737 this loco would see service out of Healey Mills, Darnall, Tinsley, Immingham, March & Stratford and renumbered 37037 before a move north to Eastfield for use primarily on the West Highland line. Moved to Motherwell in December ’85 and renumbered 37321 for use on Coal/Steel to and from Ravenscraig Steel Works. Named “Gartcosh”, the nameplates removed after it went back to 37037. A move south to Thornaby and further south to Cardiff Canton, Bristol Bath Road, Stewarts Lane and Eastleigh. Sent to France on infrastructure work in connection with their high-speed network in August ’99 and then returning the following year. Arrived at Wigan for component recovery but managed to escape, being purchased by Harry Needle and resold to the South Devon Railway where it still be found today working services out of Buckfastleigh.
On the same day as the photo of 026 was taken, 37037 is also seen at Eastfield on 26th February 1984.
