Another of the strange 'goings on' in Scotland. In order to increase the loads taken on Motorail/sleeper services from London Euston to Inverness and Aberdeen a pair of 37's would be used to and from Edinburgh to the north. These would more often be locos not in the best of condition which nobody wanted. Seen in the sidings at Inverness are 37063 & 37059 in Distribution (Red Diamond) livery on 6th September 1992 .
37094 at Cardiff Central with the trip working from Barry Docks? on 20th July 1988.
This loco would later be converted to 37716 and further used in Spain on construction their high speed network numbered L034 and L23. It has since been returned to the UK taken on by DRS and back to 37716.
The British Open golf at St. Andrews produced extra trains from various Scottish locations. Taking the working for the second day running has 37376 on the 07:30 relief from Edinburgh Waverley at the final destination of Leuchars on 20th July 1990
